An impressive 18th-century flintlock blunderbuss, measuring approximately 75 cm in length, retaining its substantial wooden stock, iron lock mechanism and characteristic flared metal barrel. The broad muzzle and compact proportions are typical of blunderbuss-type firearms, which were designed for short-range use and became particularly associated with travel, coaching and domestic protection during the 18th century. The piece displays an attractive aged surface throughout, with deep patination to the wood and oxidation, wear and tonal variation to the metalwork, giving it a strong and authentic period character. The firearm is preserved in incomplete condition, with a small number of components missing, as visible in the photographs, and is offered as an antique historical and decorative object. The surviving lock, stock and barrel retain much of the original appearance and construction of the piece. Sold as an antique collector’s item and not represented as being in working or firing condition.
